Drug-Free District Policy
The District shall be free from all illegal drugs and from the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees.
The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of a controlled substance is prohibited in all facilities under the control and use of the District.
Any student or employee who violates this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, (consistent with local, state, or federal law), which may include referral to an appropriate rehabilitation program, suspension, demotion, expulsion or dismissal.
The Chancellor shall assure that the District distributes annually to each student the information required by the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989 and complies with other requirements of the Act.
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention
Alcohol and drug abuse (substance abuse) affect individuals of all ages and backgrounds, but college students have an increased risk of problems related to using alcohol or drugs. As a college student substance abuse affects your academic success, health, and relationships with family and friends as well as increasing your risk for sexual assault or physical injury. Oxnard College Student Health Center is here to provide a confidential, caring place for students who have questions or are in need of assistance.
