CARE (Co-operative Agencies, Resources for Education) is an educational support assistance program under the umbrella of EOPS, for single heads of households (one parent household), currently receiving CASH AID/TANF/CalWORKs, with at least one child UNDER the age of 18. (ALL CARE students are EOPS students).
Qualify for CARE Program
To qualify to be a CARE student you must meet the following criteria:
- Be Eligible for the California College Promise Grant: A or B
- Be a Full-Time student (12 units) in Fall or Spring / (4 units) in Summer
- Be a California Resident
- Must Have a Child UNDER the age of 18 years old
- Must be currently receiving Cash Assistance by the County
- Be considered by the County a One Parent Household
How Do I Apply?
Come into our EOPS/CARE Office to complete or submit the following:
SERVICES for CARE Eligible Students
- One on One Counseling: Career Planning, Individual Training Plans
- Assistance with Class Selection
- Assistance with College Forms
- Early Registration
- Grants (Free Money for College)
- Book Voucher (if not covered by CalWORKs)
- Bus Pass (if not covered by CalWORKs)
- Cafeteria Meal Coupons
- Gas Card (if mileage is not covered by CalWORKs)
- Student Computer Lab
- Survival Kit: School Supplies
