The 1st-STEP Center offers workshops for new students to develop their abbreviated educational plan. Topics covered include how to:

  • choose your courses
  • create your educational plan using DegreeWorks
  • use Assist.org to find major courses offered at Oxnard College that are transferable to the university you plan to attend
  • understand the general education requirements for your educational goal

Counselors are available towards the end of the session to approve 1- and 2-semester abbreviated educational plans. Click the link below to register for one of the upcoming workshops.

Because going to a new college can be overwhelming, we strive to make your transition to Oxnard College as smooth as possible by helping you take that first step. We can assist you in achieving your educational goals regardless of whether you plan to transfer to a four-year university, complete your studies in two years or acquire skills to start a new career.
