Apply for a Degree/Certificate (Graduation)

Submit the Graduation Application Request Form if you:

• Are currently enrolled in your final required courses, or
• Have already completed all requirements for your degree or certificate.

⚠️ Important: Degrees and certificates are not awarded automatically. You must submit an application to receive your award.

Awards at Oxnard College:

• Degree
• Certificate of Achievement
• Cal-GETC (California General Education Transfer Curriculum)
• CSU GE (California State University General Education) Certification
• IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum) Certification
• Noncredit Certificate of Completion/Competency
  Note: Noncredit certificate recipients are not eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony

How to Apply:

1. Step 1: Submit Your Grad App Request
   Complete the form, even if you are still finishing classes. This requests a counselor to submit a Graduation Application for you for the awards listed above.
2. Step 2: Counselor Review & Confirmation
   After an OC Counselor reviews your request, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will indicate whether your Graduation Application has been officially submitted or if any requirements are missing. Review times vary. Applications submitted near the deadline typically receive a response within 1–2 weeks, while those submitted well in advance may take 1–4 weeks. Once a counselor has submitted your Graduation Application, it will be forwarded to the OC Admissions & Records Office for final review and processing at the end of the term.
3. Step 3: Final Review & Processing by OC Admissions & Records
   The OC Admissions & Records Office reviews applications after all grades are posted, usually one week after the term ends. Please allow 8–10 weeks for final review due to high application volumes. You will receive an email indicating whether your award has been approved or denied. Approved awards are posted to your official transcript immediately.
4. Step 4: Receive Your Diploma
   After your application is approved and processed, you will receive an email from diplomaorder@michaelsutter.com. This email will ask you to confirm your diploma name and provide your mailing address. Your diploma will not be mailed until this information is verified. Please review your diploma name carefully, as the OC Admissions & Records Office cannot make changes after the diploma order is submitted.

Graduates are encouraged to apply for graduation by the Priority Deadline to participate in Commencement.

Final evaluations will commence only after the Admissions and Records Office has certified all grades, typically about one week following the end of the term. Due to the volume of applications, please allow approximately 8 to 10 weeks after the term's conclusion for processing. Students will receive an email to their VCCCD student email account indicating whether their award has been approved or denied. Approved awards are posted to the official transcript immediately.

After the Graduation Application is approved and processed, the student will receive an email to their VCCCD student email account from diplomaorder@michaelsutter.com. This email will ask to confirm the name on the diploma and to provide a mailing address. The diploma will not be mailed until this information is verified.
