Apply for a Degree/Certificate (Graduation)

Submit this form if you are currently enrolled in the last remaining courses required for your degree/certificate or if you have already completed the requirements. To obtain your degree or certificate, you need to apply- awards are not granted automatically. Follow these steps to ensure your application is processed smoothly:

• Cal-GETC (California General Education Transfer Curriculum)
• CSU GE (California State University General Education) Certification
• IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum) Certification
• Noncredit Certificate of Completion/Competency
  Note: Noncredit certificate recipients are not eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony

How to Apply:

1. Submit Your Application: Complete this form to request processing for your degree, certificate, or CSU GE/ IGETC/ Cal-GETC certification.
2. Confirmation Email: You will receive a confirmation email after this request has been reviewed by an OC Academic Counselor. Review times may vary. If you apply within a month of the graduation application deadline, expect this email within 1-2 weeks. If you apply far in advance, it may take 1-4 weeks due to lower urgency.
3. Processing & Final Review: The OC Admissions & Records Office will begin processing your application after all grades are posted, typically one week after the end of the term. Processing can take 8 to 10 weeks.
4. Receive Your Diploma: Once processing is complete, you will receive an email from diplomaorder@michaelsutter.com requesting your mailing address. Please respond promptly to ensure your diploma is sent to the correct address.

In order to participate in Commencement (Graduation Ceremony), you must first apply for graduation by the deadline. See "Apply for Degree/Certificate (Graduation)" above.

Final evaluations will commence only after the Admissions and Records Office has certified all grades, typically about one week following the end of the term. Due to the volume of applications, please allow approximately 8 to 10 weeks after the term's conclusion for processing.

Students will receive an email from "diplomaorder@michaelsutter.com" to confirm their mailing address. To receive your diploma, please open this email and follow the instructions to provide your address.
