Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG)

Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) Funding Update

At this time, the Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) funds have been fully allocated. We are no longer able to award additional SSCG funding for the current academic year.

The SSCG is not an entitlement program. Unlike the Cal Grant, which is guaranteed if eligibility requirements are met, the SSCG is a limited-fund supplemental grant awarded to eligible California community college students based on available funding.

Important Information About SSCG:

  • Limited Funding: Awards are contingent upon state appropriations and available funds.
  • First-Come, First-Served: Funding is typically awarded to eligible students until funds are exhausted.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Students must:
    • Be a Cal Grant B or C recipient
    • Be enrolled full-time (12 or more units)
    • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards
  • Award Amounts:
    • Up to $2,596 annually for students enrolled in 12–14.99 units
    • Up to $8,000 annually for students enrolled in 15+ units
  • Supplemental Grant: The SSCG is designed to support and encourage on-time completion and is not guaranteed, even if all eligibility criteria are met.

Because funds are limited, eligible students may not receive the SSCG once funding has been exhausted.

If additional funding becomes available, awards may be made at that time. Please continue to monitor your financial aid status through your student portal.
