Don’t miss out on financial aid! You may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay for your education at Oxnard College.

Financial aid applications must be submitted every year. For the following academic year, apply between October 1 and March 2 whenever possible. If you are admitted after March 2, apply as soon as possible.

Start by completing the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) Application or the appropriate financial aid application:

• ✓ FAFSA – For U.S. citizens, nationals, and eligible permanent residents, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• ✓ CADAA – For students who do not meet FAFSA eligibility requirements, submit the CA Dream Act Application (CADAA). Many Dreamer, AB 540, and DACA students apply through the CADAA.
• We highly recommend completing the FAFSA or CADAA, as you may qualify for more types of financial aid than through the CCPG application alone.

Your transcripts help us make sure the work you have done already counts. Once they’re on file, your counselors can see what you have already completed to help you create an educational plan that fits your needs.

Request that your official college transcripts be sent directly to Admissions & Records, either electronically through your school's transcript ordering service or by mail. If needed, you may also submit an External Evaluation Request.

Signing up for a class with a prerequisite? You don't have to wait for your official transcripts to arrive. Unofficial college or high school transcripts can be used on your Request for Prerequisite Clearance

When you enroll through CCCStart, your answers determine your residency status—whether you are classified as a California resident or a nonresident student. Your acceptance email includes your residency determination, which determines your tuition rate.

Review your residency determination, and if you have questions or believe that your residency determination is incorrect, contact Admissions & Records.

For additional information, visit the Residency page.

Dual Enrollment and Noncredit students do not need to complete this step.

Your counselor will help you determine the English and Math courses that best fit your academic goals and needs.

Placement recommendations are based primarily on your high school GPA and the courses you have completed.

Need help? Contact the Counseling Office for more information.

Meeting with an Academic Counselor to plan your courses will help you stay on track toward your educational goals. In your first Academic Counseling appointment, you will be able to do the following:

• New Students discuss their goals to develop a comprehensive Student Education Plan (SEP).
• Transfer Students create a first-semester plan and request an external coursework evaluation.
• Dual Enrollment Students do not need to complete this step.

If you need to clear the prerequisite for a course before registering, you can discuss the appropriate courses with your counselor and submit the appropriate prerequisite clearance form.

⚠️ Notice to Students: Pay Your Fees to Secure Your Enrollment

After registering for classes, please make sure your tuition fees are covered. Students may pay their fees in full, set up a payment plan, or confirm that a financial aid award or other benefits are in place.

Failure to pay by the payment deadline or confirm coverage of your fees, may result in being dropped from your classes. Once you are dropped, your preferred classes may no longer be available when you are ready to re-register.

How to pay or confirm coverage:

• Tuition and other fees are paid in ePayment platform through the MyVCCCD Portal
• Students may sign up for a monthly, interest-free payment plan selected through the ePayment platform
• Financial Aid Recipients can view their financial aid award status on the Financial Aid Dashboard in their MyVCCCD portal
• Veteran Students Using GI Bill® Benefits should speak with Admissions & Records before paying any fees.
• Active Duty Students Using Tuition Assistance should speak with the Student Business Office before paying any fees.
• Noncredit courses are tuition-free.
• Dual Enrollment tuition fees are waived; however, all other applicable fees still apply.

Please take action promptly to protect your enrollment and avoid being dropped from your classes.
