Graduation Information

Please complete the Degree/Certificate & CSUGE/IGETC Application Request Form available here if you are currently enrolled in your last remaining degree requirements or have completed your degree requirements for any of the following:

• Associate's Degree
• Certificate of Achievement
• CSUGE Certification
• IGETC Certification

By completing this form, you are requesting for a degree/certificate or CSUGE/IGETC certification application to be completed by an Oxnard College counselor. Students will receive an email confirmation to their MyVCCCD email once the degree application has been submitted to the Admissions and Records Office. Please allow 3-5 business days for your request form to be processed by a counselor.

Please meet with a counselor if you need assistance determining what degree/certificate you will be applying for.

All students graduating in fall 2025, spring 2026, and summer 2026 are eligible to participate in the 2026 commencement celebration. Please check your student email and watch for an email from ocgrad@vcccd.edu for further commencement information. 

Mark your calendar for the OC Graduation Fair. This is a great opportunity to pick up a graduation lawn sign, learn more about the graduation process, purchase your regalia, and take care of your graduation needs.

When is my graduation ceremony?

• There is one academic graduation per year, typically held at the end of the spring semester. The Graduation Ceremony will include students who graduated in the fall term and those who Petition to Graduate in the spring and summer semesters. This year's graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 5:00 pm.

When will I receive additional information about the ceremony?

• The commencement email will be sent out at the start of April.  Please make sure you have a current mailing address on file. You can update your information on the MyVCCCD student portal.  

Where can I purchase my cap and gown?  

• Visit the OC Bookstore for all your graduation needs, including cap, gown, and Tassel set, diploma frames, announcements, class rings, and more.

I am a student with a disability and need special accommodations. Who do I contact?

• Any student with a disability should contact the Educational Assistance Center (EAC) in the Student Services Building if they intend to participate in the commencement ceremony and need accommodations. The EAC office can be reached at 805-678-5830.

What is the minimum cumulative GPA to graduate with honors?   

• Highest Honors - 4.0 GPA - Gold Cord
• High Honors - 3.75 GPA - Silver Cord
• Honors - 3.50 GPA - White Cord
• **To qualify for the honors designation, a minimum of 30 units must be completed at Ventura County Community College District.**

What GPA will be used for the commencement program?

• The cumulative GPA at the end of the term Fall term will be used to determine your honors standing for the commencement program.

When will my degree and/or certificate be available for pickup?  

• Degrees and certificates are typically available 8 - 10 weeks after the term ends. Recipients will receive an email once the degree and/or certificate are available. Degrees and certificates will not be automatically mailed. Students must respond and follow the steps in the email sent from diplomaorder@michaelsutter.com. To claim your diploma, follow the instructions in the email and update your diploma name, address, and contact information before the diploma can be mailed.
