Learn about medical school in a workshop at Ventura College with Dr. Hamed Mouseghy, a first generation Doctor of Medicine. He is a professor at San Jose State University and Director of University of Medicine and Health Sciences. Workshop is sponsored by Ventura College Counseling.

 

Pre-Health Professions Virtual Conference | April 25th- April 26th

The Irvine Valley College (IVC) and PreMedCC Health Professions Virtual Conference is an annual event that provides information, updates, and resources on health professions programs available for students.

Learn more about IVC's Health Professions Pathway and PreMedCC, a non-profit student led organization that focuses on providing community college students with pathway information and resources to enter various health professions.

Military Installation Resilient Design Challenge

  • Arizona State University Laboratory for Energy And Power Solutions is excited to host an online virtual scenario-based military resiliency challenge!  This challenge is open to students currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • $5,000 participant stipend
  • Accepting Submissions June 1, 2023 – August 15, 2024

OC Foundation Scholarship

  • A variety of Scholarship Grants are available based on criteria including academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, program of study and more. 

  • Attend a demonstration, workshop, or Q&A drop in to learn more and get assistance with applying to scholarships. Dates can be found here.

INTERNSHIPS

 

Community Leadership Fellowship Program

  • Provides stipend-paid work-based learning opportunities for Oxnard College students with partner organizations that provide advocacy for and critical services to historically marginalized communities. As a participant, students will gain practical experience in Leadership and Social Change, leading to community change careers and enabling you to become a change agent in your local community.
  • Benefits
    • Participants will be awarded up to a $10,000 stipend and a scholarship of up to $5,000 while enrolled in the fellowship program, based on length of service and other external factors.
  • Eligibility
    • Our fellowship program serves community college students primarily between the ages of 18-24. However, students over the age of 24 are also eligible to apply. Students must be first-time degree earners enrolled in no less than 6 units during each semester of the program.

CTI Accelerate

  • Join computer science college students from throughout California in a program designed to help you hone your problem solving skills, prepare for technical and non-technical interviewing, and ultimately get you started in a meaningful summer work experience. For more information check out this FAQ.

  • Looking for students who:
    • Have taken at least an Intro Programming Course
    • Are interested in landing a traditional tech internship, an REU, or a Summer Open Source Experience in summer 2025
    • Can put in 6-10 hours per week over the next 40 weeks

ORISE Research Participation Program at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

  • Training program for college students and recent graduates in the STEM field.
  • ORISE Fellows participate in mentor-led research projects to gain hands-on experience in the field of regulatory science.
  • OND's Summer ORISE Program is a mini-version of the full-year fellowship. Candidates who are accepted into the program onboard at the beginning of the summer and participate in research from May through September.
  • Applications are being accepted through April 15, 2024. It is strongly recommended that interested candidates apply early.

 

 

NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS)

NCAS

Mission 1: Discover

  • A 5-week, self-paced online course.
  • This orientation to NASA sets a baseline for all students wishing to pursue subsequent NCAS missions. Students will gain a broad knowledge of what NASA has in its current plan and how they can play a role. STEM based activities embedded in the online course include live and recorded subject matter expert lectures, interactive multimedia on NASA content, interactions with fellow aerospace scholars, knowledge assessments including a final project, and guidance and support from trained professional educators.
  • Applications are accepted until 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 10, 2024.
