The Irvine Valley College (IVC) and PreMedCC Health Professions Virtual Conference is an annual event that provides information, updates, and resources on health professions programs available for students.

Military Installation Resilient Design Challenge

  • Arizona State University Laboratory for Energy And Power Solutions is excited to host an online virtual scenario-based military resiliency challenge!  This challenge is open to students currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university.

  • A variety of Scholarship Grants are available based on criteria including academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, program of study and more.

INTERNSHIPS

 

ORISE Research Participation Program at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

  • Training program for college students and recent graduates in the STEM field.
  • ORISE Fellows participate in mentor-led research projects to gain hands-on experience in the field of regulatory science.
  • OND's Summer ORISE Program is a mini-version of the full-year fellowship. Candidates who are accepted into the program onboard at the beginning of the summer and participate in research from May through September.
  • Applications are being accepted through April 15, 2024. It is strongly recommended that interested candidates apply early.

NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS)

Mission 1: Discover

  • A 5-week, self-paced online course.
  • This orientation to NASA sets a baseline for all students wishing to pursue subsequent NCAS missions. Students will gain a broad knowledge of what NASA has in its current plan and how they can play a role. STEM based activities embedded in the online course include live and recorded subject matter expert lectures, interactive multimedia on NASA content, interactions with fellow aerospace scholars, knowledge assessments including a final project, and guidance and support from trained professional educators.
  • Applications are accepted from April 1 until 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 10, 2024.

The National Science Foundation’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) 

  • Paid 8–10-week summer internship at universities and colleges across the country in all areas of STEM and Social Sciences 
  • Must be US Citizen/Permanent Resident 
  • Benefits: Receive $5,000-$6,000, housing, and travel to/from site 
  • Work closely with faculty members, graduate students, postdoctoral mentors, and program coordinator 
  • Participate in professional development workshops. Present final research project at poster session and oral symposium

STEMbassadors IDEA Center Internship (Learning-Aligned Employment Program)

OC STEM is partnering with the OC Career Center and the Learning-Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) to create career-related internships. The first internship opportunity will be a 7-week opportunity with the STEMbassadors IDEA Center in Ventura and pays $20/hour. Apply here. Not all students qualify. OC STEM LAEP students who qualify for Learning Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) demonstrate:  

  1. At least half-time enrollment  
  2. California resident classification 
  3. Satisfactory academic progress in a program leading to a degree or certificate 
  4. Demonstrated financial need 
  5. Eligibility to work in the United States
