Spring 2021 - OC Transfer Center Virtual Events
Please consider joining any or all of the OC Transfer Center Virtual Events for Spring 2021. The OC Transfer Center is available to assist you with your transfer process. They offer multiple transfer pathways to students planning to transfer to a college or university in/or out of state. Students will be provided with the necessary information and guidance that meet the requirements needed to successfully transfer to the school of your choice.

2021 Global Environmental Microbiology (GEM) course
Applications are now open; they are due Thursday, Feb 25 by 5pm Pacific Standard Time.
The Center for Dark Energy Biosphere Investigations (C-DEBI), headquartered at the University of Southern California (USC) and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), is offering an all-expense paid, three-week, intensive introductory aquatic microbiology course called Global Environmental Microbiology (GEM).
We are recruiting early career undergraduates interested in a STEM career from 2- and 4-year colleges
to join us at the University of Southern California and Santa Catalina Island
from June 13 through July 2, 2021
for lectures, discussions, labs, fieldwork, networking, career panels and more
focusing on aquatic microbes and their ecology
taught by Drs. John Heidelberg and Eric Webb
paid for by C-DEBI, including travel, room, board, and course expenses.
HOWEVER, if we cannot offer an in-person program in summer 2021, we will offer a highly modified online version of the course: Summer OnLine Interactive/Discussion-Global Environmental Microbiology (SOLID-GEM)
for early career undergraduates interested in a STEM career from 2- and 4-year colleges
to join us *online using Zoom, Slack, and other communication methods*
from *June 14* through July 2, 2021
for lectures, discussions, *computer-based* labs, *fieldwork talks*, networking, career panels and more
focusing on aquatic microbes and their ecology

OC Student Support & Connection Forum
Oxnard College Student Support and Connection Forum on January 12, 2021. The purpose of this forum is to connect our students to the various campus resources, hear directly from students about their challenges and opportunities, and how the college can better respond to their needs.
VCCF Scholarship Foundation
There are many different scholarships under this foundation to apply to, so please be aware that you can only apply to those that you are eligible for. For example, many scholarships will be based on major, ethnicity, or club involvement. One important factor that I would like to share is that VCCF is not income-based.

Strawberry Scholarship
Scholarship awards provide assistance with tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other educational expenses associated with college enrollment.
Eligibility: First-time applicants must have a parent that is currently employed as a California strawberry fieldworker for the current and prior two harvest seasons. (Applicants may also qualify if they are employed as a California strawberry fieldworker).
Full-time enrollment in a trade school, community college, four-year university, or graduate/professional program during the period for which scholarship is requested.
Maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or greater.
