Donaldo Martinez

Bio:

Hi, my name is Donaldo Martinez and I am a first-generation transfer student and graduate from Oxnard College. I am not the oldest in my family, but I am the first one to go to college. I am transferring to the University of California Davis where I will be majoring in Psychology with a minor in either Sociology or Forensic Entomology.  Like many Dreamers, I was not born in the U.S, I was born in Tecate, Baja CA in Mexico.  I arrived in the US when I was just 4 years old and went to school the rest of my life here.  As a DACA recipient transfer student, I plan to advocate for myself and other people that need help in order to bring awareness to the monstrosity and terrible actions taken by ICE and/or our government against DACA Dreamers such as myself and other undocumented people.  After my major, I plan to go to graduate school and get a Masters of Science in Forensic Psychology in order to make an impact in our criminal justice system and our law enforcement system to persuade and change certain unlawful behavior that our border patrol has against undocumented hard-working people that want no more than a good future and a better life.  I also want to work in legal cases and with victims or crucial crimes. Transferring to me is a huge step towards my goal and I sure hope that one day many others can step up and join not only me but the many people that are already out there trying to make a difference. Thank you and congratulations to the class of 2021, Go Condors !!!!
