The Oxnard College First Year Experience (FYE) – Condor to Condor Program is designed to kick-start your journey to college success. Through personalized support, valuable resources, and meaningful connections, FYE helps you achieve your academic goals, build community, engage socially, and explore opportunities that matter to you.

As a first-year student, you’ll receive guidance throughout your entire first academic year through intentional programming focused on academic success, personal growth, leadership development, and career readiness. The Condor to Condor experience empowers you to thrive both inside and outside the classroom while creating a strong foundation for your future.

Our Mission – Peer Mentoring

At Oxnard College, the Peer Mentoring program is committed to empowering students through meaningful, peer-supported connections. Our mission is to:

Promote Student Success and Retention
Support students in achieving their academic and personal goals by fostering an inclusive and encouraging environment.
Enhance Engagement
Increase student involvement with peers, campus events, and college resources to enrich the college experience.
Cultivate Peer-to-Peer Relationships
Build impactful mentoring relationships where mentees and mentors grow together through shared experiences and mutual support.

Create a vibrant campus community that nurtures a deep sense of belonging and connection among all Condors.

Your peer mentor will be your guide throughout your college journey! They’ll keep you informed each month about upcoming campus events, helpful workshops, and important deadlines. In addition, they’ll connect you with the wide range of resources and support services available at Oxnard College to help you thrive.

You’ll also have access to a dedicated academic counselor who will help you create a comprehensive educational plan designed to support your academic journey and ensure you stay on track to achieve your educational goals.
