Community Leadership Fellowship Program (CLF)
Welcome to the Community Leadership Fellowship Program, a unique partnership between the California Youth Leadership Corps (CYLC) and Oxnard College.
We are committed to fostering success in our students and advocating for a just and inclusive society.
Our program is designed to prepare students to become leaders in their local communities. Through our learn-and-earn career pathway, students gain valuable skills in community organizing, advocacy, leadership, and development.
The Community Leadership Fellowship Program at Oxnard College is a transformative "learn-and-earn" initiative designed to empower students—especially those from historically marginalized backgrounds—to become leaders and change agents in their communities. In partnership with the California Youth Leadership Corps (CYLC), the program offers hands-on experience in community organizing, advocacy, and leadership development. Fellows receive up to $10,000 in stipends and a $5,000 scholarship, while gaining real-world skills through work-based learning with local organizations.
It’s more than a fellowship—it’s a launchpad for community-driven careers and lifelong impact.

Community Partners
Our community partners are the direct link between the program and our community. Providing a home and hands-on experience for our Fellows is just one part of what our community based organizations do; they are involved in programming and planning for our program, and act in an advisory capacity for the development of the Community Leadership Fellowship Program.
