The Administrative Assistant and Office Technologies programs prepare students for employment with the necessary skill sets for administrative assistant and general office careers, the emphasis being administrative support. Students prepare for entry- to mid-level positions in a variety of business government, and educational settings, as well as prepare for career and academic advancement.
This program offers the certification of achievement (COA) and associates of science (A.S) degree and is designed for students who wish to prepare for positions as administrative assistants and work closely with management in a business, professional, educational, or industrial office. Students who take general education courses in addition to the program courses will be granted an Associate in Science degree.
the Office Technologies proficiency award (PA) is designed for students with little or no previous office training and who have immediate job goals in mind. This program can be completed in one semester. Students who receive a grade of C or better in each required course will be granted a Proficiency Award by the department. Students can then complete additional courses that when added to the Office Technologies program will receive a Certificate of Achievement in the Administrative Assistant program.
