Oxnard College has made every reasonable effort to ensure the information provided in the ADTs is accurate and current. However, there may be instances where it is necessary for the College to make additions, revisions, or deletions and there may also be instances when a new Template is approved by the State Chancellor’s Office. Please refer to an Oxnard College counselor for questions and appropriate use of the ADTs.
Below are Oxnard College’s Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADTs) and how courses from Ventura College and Moorpark College can be used to meet Oxnard College’s ADT requirements.
TMC: Transfer Model Curriculum. This is a template created by groups of discipline faculty from the California Community College (CSU) and California State University (CSU) throughout the state designed to prepare students to transfer to the CSU in particular majors. Faculty at each CCC take the TMC and structure their own ADT (Associate Degree for Transfer) based on what their CCC offers and where their students transfer. The TMC may allow for courses that faculty at a particular college choose not to include, sometimes because those choices may lead students to taking courses that are not adequate preparation (or not the preferred preparation) for the CSUs that their students transfer to. Colleges submit their ADTs to the CCC State Chancellor's Office (CCCO) for approval and must attach documentation of current articulation as required by each TMC.
C-ID Number or articulation column:
- Course Discipline and number: this is a C-ID number which stands for course identification number. If a C-ID is listed, the TMC requires that only those courses approved for this C-ID number are allowed to be included here.
- AAM: Assist Articulation by Major. When AAM is required, articulation officers must have submitted proof of articulation of this course within the same major at a CSU (or a major that CSU deemed “similar”) AAM and C-ID are not interchangeable.
- BCT: CSU Baccalaureate List. When this is the requirement, the TMC also usually states that the course must be in the same major as the degree but sometimes there are other rules on that particular TMC for that ADT.
- GECC: CSU GE Certification list by area. For courses to meet this requirement, they must be approved in the area(s) of the CSU GE Breadth and/or IGETC indicated on the TMC.
- GECC & Specific title: For courses to meet this requirement, they must be approved in the area(s) of the CSU GE Breadth and/or IGETC indicated on the TMC and must have one of the specific titles/similar to what is allowable by that TMC.
Required Core Courses column:
This is where all of the requirements for each degree are listed as presented in the 2020-2021 college catalog and in line with the TMC Template. The rules governing each section of each degree are listed as well including how many units or courses students must choose in each section. Only active courses are listed. If courses listed on the current approved TMC Template have since been deactivated for Fall 2020-2021 (or prior) they have been removed from these charts. If courses numbers have changed since the template was approved, those numbers have been updated on these charts to reflect the active course number for Fall 2020, regardless if this change was made to the degree in the catalog.
Comparable Course column:
There are two columns of comparable courses on each chart. Courses listed from the other two colleges are considered “comparable” and students may substitute as equivalent for this particular requirement in this particular section of this particular ADT. If a course is listed as “comparable” in one instance, there may be other instances where the same course is not because of the articulation requirements of each course and area and ADT. Do NOT assume that because it was okay somewhere else, it was missed and can be added.
