As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Oxnard College Foundation maintains their mission to provide support to campus development, student scholarships, educational programs, and other college needs, focusing on a new fundraising campaign for GivingTuesday. Scheduled for December 1, 2020 GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world.

Every year, the Foundation awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and grants to Oxnard College students to help aid in their academic path. This year, the Oxnard College Foundation has set a campaign goal to raise $20K in support of their scholarships and grants programs. Inspired by Student Activities Specialist Gabriela Rodriguez, the 20.20 Challenge encourages people to donate $20.20 and challenge others to do the same. The Foundation is promoting this campaign on their social media channels, and people who would like to help spread the word can forward the video link https://youtu.be/fTZeb08p15o and attached pdf which is hotlinked.      In addition, the Foundation, in partnership with Academic Senate, Classified Senate, and Associated Student Government, has also been raising money for the Emergency Student Support Fund. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we are all experiencing the challenging and difficult impacts, though our students are disproportionally affected. Prior to the pandemic, 16% of students who responded in the survey reported unstable living conditions and 51% reported their income had decreased because of the crisis. The initial assumption is college students live at home with their parents and will be protected during this pandemic. The reality is college students are balancing work, school, families, and other commitments. When students are struggling with basic needs and insecurities, they are often forced to place their academic goals on hold. The Emergency Student Support Fund is designed to assist students in need, and the Foundation will match donations up to $20,000.
