Oxnard College is proud to host the 2026 Ventura County Regional Men of Color Conference on Friday, September 18th from 9am - 4pm. This year’s theme is “Power and Purpose: Mobilizing Leadership During Uncertainty” with featured speaker, Dr. Victor Rios, a tenured and award-winning professor at UC Santa Barbara.
Dr. Rios once stood on the edge of fatalism as a high school dropout and juvenile delinquent. Defying the odds, he earned his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and became one of the nation’s leading researchers on at-promise youths, resilience, and educational transformation. Today, Dr. Rios is a nationally recognized scholar and speaker whose TED Talk has received more than 2 million views. His work and message strongly align with the conference's vision and would resonate deeply with our students, practitioners, and partners.
This year’s conference will be held in the beautiful Performing Arts Building located on the Oxnard College campus.
Space is limited, so Register TODAY!
This year’s conference is brought to you by Oxnard College, Ventura College, Moorpark College, CSU Channel Islands, and California Lutheran University.
