6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

You are invited to a theater experience like no other! Join us on Thursday, November 5th, at 6pm in our beautiful Performing Arts Building for “White Rabbit, Red Rabbit” — a play by Iranian-German playwright, Nassim Soleimanpour. This will be a one woman performance featuring Adrienne Whitney, a SAG-AFTRA and AEA actor with extensive experience across television, film, theater, and immersive performance.

White Rabbit, Red Rabbit is a global sensation that explores the restrictions, censorship, and denial of individual choice faced under a harsh regime. The actor will step onto the stage and be handed a script she’s never seen before. No rehearsal, no director. The play unfolds live, shaped entirely by how the author’s words compel that evening’s performer to respond. Each performance brings a new energy as the actor steps into the unknown, creating a singular, unrepeatable theatrical experience.

Barred from leaving Iran for refusing military service, Soleimanpour conceived White Rabbit, Red Rabbit as “message in a bottle” — a way to use the actor’s voice to communicate the experiences of an entire generation living in a restrictive, harshly censored society directly to the audience. Wild and utterly original, the play explores themes of freedom, control and the human condition, with a focus on the lives of young people. It’s emotionally vulnerable at times, hilarious at others, and always pushing the boundaries of what it means to be present: spontaneous, playful, interactive and unpredictable.

White Rabbit, Red Rabbit asks questions about obedience, choice, and freedom of expression. The result is a play that is as much about contemporary Iran as it is about power, complicity, and the fragile contract between performer and audience — anywhere in the world.

The play has been translated into over 30 languages and performed over 3,000 times worldwide. According to the UK Guardian, “We're asked to consider risk, complicity and conformity, but ultimately White Rabbit, Red Rabbit explores the laws of live theater — the way in which an audience lets disbelief ebb and flow; our pleasure in watching an event take shape even without rehearsal.”
