Join the Celebration!!! We invite you to join us in supporting LGBTQIA+ communities at our annual LGBTQIA+ Progress Flag Raising Ceremony on Wednesday, May 14th from 10:00am -12:00pm at the Main Flagpole (located on the wide pathway facing Rose Ave. and next to the Library).
Beginning at 10:00am there will be a welcome address from our Masters of Ceremony, Erin Marquez-Lawley and Rogelio Huelpalcalco, followed by remarks from LGBTQIA+ OC employees and students, and a special performance of the national anthem by an OC student.
Immediately following the flag raising, there will be free food, desserts by Desserts to Die For, and LGBTQIA+ resources from our community partners. Cap off the celebration with a 4:00pm screening of the major motion picture Love, Simon presented by our OC Queer Affairs Club in LA-14.
Across the world, the LGBTQIA+ community celebrates pride in June. This year, Oxnard College is going to start its Pride celebration on May 14th so more of our campus community will have the opportunity to celebrate!
We would like to thank our Community Partners: Diversity Collective, Coalition for Family Harmony, Oxnard LGBTQIA, Pride Clinic Santa Paula, Transverse, MICOP, Rainbow Resource Center (OC), Pacific Pride Foundation, Planned Parenthood, P-Flag, and OC Associated Student Government (ASG).
A special thank you to our Oxnard College event co-sponsors: OC Queer Affairs Club, OC Student Health Center, Rainbow Resource Center, Rainbow Cafe Support Group, and OC Live.
