Join Dr. Lily Anne Tamai, Assistant Professor of Asian American Studies at CSU Channel Islands, on Monday, April 20th from 4pm - 5pm in LS-16 for a hisotrical walk through Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in Ventura County as part of Diversity & Culture Week.

This lecture explores the history and settlement of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in Ventura County from the late 19th century through the 20th century. Through historical insights and personal narratives, Dr. Tamai will examine how these communities built their lives and identities in a new environment.

The presentation highlights the vital role of entrepreneurship, family networks, and community-building, as well as the creation of cultural and religious spaces that fostered connection, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

This is a FREE event that is open to all.
