Alejandra Ortiz-Menchaca, is the Director of Advocacy for the Associated Student Government (ASG). She is majoring in Education, with the intention of teaching Math/ESL. Ultimately, she would like to become a Professor then Administrator. She aspires to become an educational leader, and be able to teach both children and adults. After class, she enjoys volunteering at the ASG Building, and on days she doesn't have class, she is a STEM Math Tutor upstairs in the OC Library.

Alejandra's tutoring is paired with a Math R101 class that she is embedded in on Mondays and Wednesdays, to ensure that she is  equipped with the knowledge and practice needed to be an effective tutor. In her spare time, she enjoys to read, write, work out, and practice playing her acoustic guitar. Alejandra enjoys reading books from the Dream Resource Center in the ASG Building because there are stories of undocumented Americans highlighted on them.

Alejandra has read a handful and the next is always just as beautiful as the last with poetry like narrations. Before she embarks on her day-long duties on campus, she makes sure she has a clear head that makes room to learn more. Alejandra does this by going to sleep early, and waking up early enough to go to the gym. This allows her to reach personal goals, track progress over time, and create a balanced relationship between her many duties.
