Your Steps to Success At Oxnard College

New students, and returning students, need to complete the following matriculation steps in order to get admitted and enrolled. Much of this can be accomplished on-line. Ambassadors are available for one-on-one assistance at the Welcome Center - downstairs in the Student Services and Administration building.

• Admission
  • Apply on-line
  • Wait for an email response
  • Submit official transcripts from prior institutions, including HS transcripts showing graduation, to the Admissions and Records office
  • Activate and set-up your MyVCCCD account within 72 hours

• Financial Aid  (optional, but recommended)
  • Complete the on-line BOG Fee Waiver (enrollment fees only)
  • Complete FAFSA (www.fafsa.gov)

• Assessment and Orientation

• Take Assessments in English, Math and/or ESL (for general education and ESL courses)
  • Schedule Orientation via the Welcome Center
  • Bring assessment scores
• Plan your Schedule and Register
  • Confirm your schedule with an academic counselor
  • Register on-line through my.VCCCD.edu
  • Pay your fees.  Fees are due upon registration
  • Payment plans are available
  • Parking permits are available on-line and on-campus 
  • Purchase your books. The Bookstore has books listed by the class you are taking
• Prepare for the beginning of the semester
  • Learn where your classes are located
  • Prepare your supplies
  • Review the Academic Calendar and familiarize yourself with important dates; add them to your planning calendar
