Student Privacy Rights
Oxnard College adheres to the guidelines established by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) - a federal legislation established to regulate access and maintenance of student records.
FERPA affords students certain rights with respect to their education records, including the right to:
- Inspect their education records
- Request an amendment of the records that the student believes are inaccurate
- Control disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the students' education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent.
- File a complaint with the U.S. Deparment of Education concerning alleged failures by the college to comply with the requirements of FERPA.
