CalVet Fee Waiver

What is the CalVet Fee Waiver?

The CalVet College Fee Waiver is a benefit that waives tuition fees at any California community college, California State University, or University of California campus. Usually, only spouses or children of veterans that are 100% disabled or are missing in action are eligible. For full eligibility information, visit the CalVet website.

 

Using the CalVet Fee Waiver

  1. Program application and approval: Download the application found on the CalVet website and submit it to your County Veteran Services Office each academic year you plan to use the waiver.
  2. Letter of Eligibility: Issued by a County Veteran Services Office if the student is approved to use the CalVet Fee Waiver program. The letter is good for one academic year.
  3. Provide Letter of Eligibility to Financial Aid Office: The program eligibility letter must be submitted to the California community college or university Financial Aid Office. Email a copy to mcgibill@vcccd.edu.

 

What Fees are Waived?

Students will have the cost of tuition waived. All students will be responsible for the college services fee, health fee, and if desired, parking permit fees.
