Thank you for your interest in applying to the MESA Program

To be eligible and join the OC MESA Program, students must:

• Major in a calculus-based major in STEM (science, engineering, or mathematics) fields.
• Be a first-generation college student
• Intend to transfer to a 4-year college/university
• Have no previous bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrate financial need by qualifying and /or receiving financial aid

Can I join MESA if I don’t meet all requirements above?

You can become a ASEM member if you meet the criteria below. ASEM members are "Friends of MESA". This allows students who are not full MESA students to participate in all MESA programming. The only limitation is we are not able to fund out-of-state student conferences or provide stipends. 

ASEM students must meet one of our two major eligibilities:

• Option 1- Be First Generation and STEM Major
• Option 2- Demonstrate Financial Need and STEM Major
