Instructor New to Canvas? Instructions to get you started
To report Student Learning Outcomes (SLO's), use this link to get to your eLumen scorecards. Scorecards are available once a term. The scorecard is based on a single section taught, and contains the class roster for that section, and the Course SLO's that have been assigned to that course. A rubric (Exemplary, Average, No Proficiency, for example) has been assigned to the course, and scores are entered on a per-student basis.
The Scorecard PDF will walk you through the process of scoring your students in a section for a term.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
To report your Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) via eLumen, please contact Janet Dawald, your Technical Data Specialist and SLO contact. This application requires a username and password, which can be of your choosing, so please contact Janet to set your credentials up, it takes only a few minutes.
If you are planning to teach an online or hybrid course in the future for VCCCD, you must complete the district Online Teacher Training Course in Canvas prior to assignment.
Completion of the course prepares you to teach online for all three colleges in the district and effectively set-up and manage your courses with the most recent California Community College Chancellor's Office standards for distance education. The training course is conducted online, to replicate the student experience, and can take up to one month to complete depending on experience and technology comfort level.

Which Instructors have completed the VCCCD Online Teaching Certificate Course?
A Certification list for all 3 colleges is maintained by the Instructional Technologist Designer team. The list is updated a couple of weeks after each training course completes. If an instructor is significantly behind and finishing a previous course, the Instructional Technologist will need to be notified in order to confirm completion before they are added to the district-wide list. If it seems possibly out of date, please contact Laura Gentry for verification.
