THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO:
Thursday, April 23, 2020 @ 6pm
in the Performing Arts Building
Oxnard College is home to a wide array of students: They are often the first in their families to attend college. They are single parents. Dreamers. Veterans. In spite of the barriers many of them face, however, our students are persevering, and each has a unique story to share. In its mission to elevate the voices from within our vibrant community, WEspeak provides Oxnard College students a platform to share their personal stories. With a common thread of honesty, strength and resiliency, these counter stories challenge and reframe the dominant, often harmful narrative with both poignancy and relevance.
In the spirit of community, empowerment and a shared humanity, we invite you to come be inspired and moved through the power of storytelling. All are welcome. We hope to see you there.
This annual event is coordinated by English Professor José Maldonado and ASL Professor Emily Zwaal. It is made possible through the collective support of Oxnard College's OC Live, EOPS and Associated Student Government.
