Explore the performing arts with artists from our local colleges and universities! Join students and faculty from Oxnard College, Moorpark College, Ventura College, and Cal State Channel Islands in this special presentation organized by Project ALAS (Aligning Learning and Academic Success). Opportunities for performing arts students at all levels are showcased. This event includes a panel discussion and Q&A on transfer.

Strategies of Segregation

OC alumnus Dr. David Garcia returns to discuss his recent work on racially separate and unequal schooling for Mexican American and Black students here in Oxnard. Dr. Garcia is Professor of Education and Information Studies at UCLA. His new book is Strategies of Segregation: Race, Residence, and the Struggle for Educational Equality (UC Press, 2018).

Mud & Dust: Our Climate Future

From mud (heavy rains) to dust (prolonged drought), we are feeling climate change here in Ventura County. Join Geography professor Jim Danza in this interactive presentation, from global warming in Alaska to extreme heat in California.
