The Department of Defense’s SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program will host our Let's Hit Submit webinar on November 16, 2022, at 1 p.m. EST. The webinar will review application best practices and have a robust question and answer session.

The SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program offers STEM students who are currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. a full scholarship, internships, annual stipends, and guaranteed employment with the Department of Defense

 2023 AHSIE Seed to Tree Student Scholarship -

The Alliance of Hispanic Serving Institution Educators will be awarding several scholarships for students, which will include the registration to attend the 15th Annual 2023 AHSIE Best Practices Conference scheduled March 12-15, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in San Francisco, California. Scholarship categories include: associate’s, bachelor’s, and graduate/doctoral levels.

Recipients will be selected based on the following eligibility requirements:

  • First-Generation college student status
  • Currently attend an HSI in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
  • Enrolled full-time in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023
  • Pell-eligible (undergraduate applicants only)
  • Undocumented students are eligible to apply
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Completed application (including 3 embedded short essays)
  • Scholarship recipients must attend the AHSIE Conference

The ideal candidate will demonstrate not only academic achievement but also the potential for leadership and contribution to the community. By attending this conference, we hope to provide students the ability to broaden experiences, develop networks and foster mentorship possibilities with HSI-designated campus professionals.

The award package includes a cash scholarship, conference registration, travel & hotel expenses, and recipients will be honored at the AHSIE Conference. 

Deadline to apply is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. (PST). 
Conference registration will open October 24, 2022.

DOE Omni Technology Alliance Internship Program - Summer 2023

The following benefits will be offered:

  • Stipend – $750 per week (stipend will increase to $850 and $950 in the second and third year of future participation, respectively)
  • Housing Allowance – A housing allowance of a minimum $240 per week will be provided.
  • Travel - Travel reimbursement will be provided for inbound and outbound expenses up to $1,000 for participants who relocate more than fifty miles, one-way, from the assigned hosting site. Depending on your project assignment, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for travel and education to further the educational goals of your appointment.
  • Virtual Appointments: Appointments may be hosted virtually at the discretion and approval of the host site or facility.

The Omni Technology Alliance Internship Program will begin on June 5, 2023, and end on August 11, 2023. Summer interns will be expected to commit to full-time participation based on 40 hours per week, including a week-long culminating event in Washington, D.C., August 5-11, 2023. Exceptions to the proposed period may be considered on a case-by-case basis to accommodate the candidate’s academic schedule.
