General Technology FAQs

I’m trying to access functions such as Check Roster and Post Grades through the MyVCCCD portal, but I keep getting a blank page.

On some computers, these functions do not seem to load if you’re using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to access the site. Mozilla’s Firefox is the browser recommended by the District for best access to MyVCCCD.

I’m having trouble logging in to MyVCCCD.

Login help and general support is available by calling the Help Desk at 805-652-7777 (hours of operation).

Please also note that the system becomes very slow and may not even work at all when there are too many simultaneous users. This is most likely to occur during the first week of the semester.

Where do I find out about training opportunities from Instructional Technology?

Visit the Training webpage for the latest information. Space is often limited, so RSVP early if you're interested in a session.

Faculty Resource Center

Can I use the resources in the Faculty Resource Center?

Absolutely! The Faculty Resource Center (FRC), located in the LRC building, is a technology-rich environment created for use by full- and part-time faculty. It houses 9 computer workstations (each with Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, and web browsers) and 2 high-quality laser printers. The FRC is intended to help enhance teaching methods, support distance learning, and provide professional development. It also serves as a place where faculty can meet formally or informally to share ideas, lower barriers between disciplines, form learning communities, and promote innovation. The Instructional Technologist, whose office is adjacent to the FRC, is available to assist faculty in discovering, exploring, sharing, developing, and utilizing technologies.
