CARE

CARE (Co-operative Agencies, Resources for Education) is an educational support assistance program under the umbrella of EOPS, for single heads of households (one parent household), currently receiving CASH AID/TANF/CalWORKs, with at least one child UNDER the age of 14. (ALL CARE students are EOPS students).

 

Qualify for CARE Program

To qualify to be a CARE student you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be Eligible for the Board of Governor's Fee Waiver:  A or B
  • Be a Full-Time student (12 units) in Fall or Spring / (4 units) in Summer
  • Be a California Resident
  • Must Have a Child UNDER the age of 14 years old
  • Must be currently receiving CASH AID by the County
  • Be considered by the County a One Parent Household

 

 

How Do I Apply?

Come into our EOPS/CARE Office to complete or submit the following:

  • EOPS Application
  • CARE Application
  • Notice of Action or Agency Certification of Cash Aid (Form-A)
  • CalWorks Verification of Services(Form-B)

  • One on One Counseling:  Career Planning, Individual Training Plans
  • Assistance with Class Selection
  • Assistance with College Forms
  • Early Registration
  • Grants (Free Money for College)
  • Book Voucher (if not covered by CalWORKs)
  • Bus Pass (if not covered by CalWORKs)
  • Cafeteria Meal Coupons
  • Gas Card (if mileage is not covered by CalWORKs)
  • Student Computer Lab
  • Survival Kit: School Supplies
