HED R106 Introduction to Athletic Training

This is an introductory course designed to present the basic concepts and skills involved in Athletic Training pursuant to the expanding field of Sports Medicine. In this class the student will learn basic mechanism of injuries, signs and symptoms, initial treatment, and rehabilitation of a variety of injuries common to athletics. The student will also learn some basic tape jobs, such as ankle, arch, wrist and thumb.

Athletic Training Internship

For the student who is wishing to gain experience in the field of Sport Medicine, there are some opportunities for internships in the Athletic Training Room. These internships are great opportunity for students wishing to have clinical experience when applying to athletic training programs, nursing programs, pre-med programs, or any other rallied health field program.
