Center for International Trade Development
The goal of the Oxnard Center for International Trade Development (CITD) is to enhance the competitive strength of California businesses in the international marketplace and to support international trade development. The primary target market for CITD program services is the small to medium sized business, which has: (1) adequate resources to undertake the development and establishment of international markets and (2) is seeking to diversify its client base. Such businesses usually have 20 or fewer employees.
In 1989 the CITDs were created in an effort to promote and nuture trade activity, link and interact within the state's development circles and to bridge community college programs throughout the state.
Today the CITDs consist of eighteen regional and numerous satillite offices spanning across every business community in the state. Each regional center provides a comprehensive portfolio of FREE import/export technical assistance, certificate and non-credit training programs, contracted in-house training opportunities, state-federal-international procurement offerings and tremendous resources not currently available on the internet. Combined, these resources provide small and medium sized firms with the tools needed to expand trade opportunities, increase profits and create new high paying jobs.
The CITDs have various concentrations and work to develop resources in the many cluster and emerging industries. Regardless of the discipline, each center in the "network" is linked, electronically through video conferencing and desktop capabilities, nine other specialized ED>Net initiatives and over 300 private sector consultants to provide you with the broadest network of specialists. Working with both state and federal partners, the CITDs have access to over 150 foreign offices and over 100 industry trade specialists. These free and specialized services make the CITDs the best choice when seeking international market assistance.
