SAM 2007

SAM is a web-based software application that measures your proficiency in the Microsoft Office 2007 applications suite (Access Excel, PowerPoint and/or Word), Windows 2000, Windows XP and general Internet skills.

We are using SAM 2007 in the CSC for CIS R022A, Microsoft Office course ONLY.

SAM 2007 Student Manual: information from logging in to joining sections, doing assignments, and taking exams. (Do not print this manual in the Lab. It is 30 pages long. Print off-campus only or at the college library (there is a 10cents per page charge.) Thank you.)

SAM INSTITUTION KEY CODE: V7723868

To establish your User Account, login to SAM 2007 by clicking the yellow, SAM 2007 icon on the desktop. Click on "New User". You will prompted to enter the Institution Code above.

Review the following Troubleshooting Hints, before attempting to create your User Account:

KEY CODE: is provided in your SAM package. Be careful with the code characters such as the L, I, 1, l, O, 0. Those are capital L, capital i, number 1, lowercase l, capital O, and the number 0. There have been a number of students who have had trouble entering the key code because of the charaters above.

Username: We are recommending that you use your first name initial+your last name. Your faculty would like to be able to identify you without having to lookup your profile.

Password: must be at least 6 characters. You will be prompted to enter a security question to be used in case you forget your password. It will be mailed to you from SAM 2007 Tech Support. For security purposes, no one at Oxnard College, including your instructors, have access to your password.

Alias: this is optional

ID#: please use your student 900+. You will find this on your registration confirmation statement.

Email: please enter valid information here. We must have an email for you. Also, don't forget to update your Webstar (college information) profile to include your email.
