| The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) selected Oxnard College as one of four community colleges in the United States to host a delegation of Chinese educators researching community colleges across the country. Oxnard College is honored to be selected among the more than 1,100 community colleges in the country. The delegates will be visiting Oxnard College through the Vocational Education Leadership Training Program (VELT) of the AACC. The VELT program is a unique partnership with the AACC, financed by the Government of the Peoples’ Republic of China with the support of the Chinese Ministry of Education.
The VELT delegates will be in Oxnard from October 28 through November 3 participating in educational seminars and meetings with college officials. The delegates will also be participating in various cultural events such as visiting the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library, Port of Hueneme Oxnard Harbor District, Museum of Ventura County, and the San Buenaventura Mission.
We are pleased to host the VELT delegation while they learn about the community college and tour Southern California. For more information please contact Dr. Richard Duran, President, Oxnard College, at (805) 986-5808. |
