2011 STUDENT DIGI FILM FESTIVAL
The 2011 Student Digi Film Festival will be held November 4-5 at 7 p.m. in the Oxnard College Performing Arts building located at 4000 South Rose Avenue in Oxnard. The Student Digital Film Festival is an Oxnard Independent Film event made possible through the generous support of the City of Oxnard and Oxnard College, with additional support by community sponsors. The mission of the Festival is to educate and empower students of all ages by supporting development and exposure of their artistic expression and authentic individual voices. The Festival showcases the achievements of youth and students of all ages in order to provide a forum for emerging artists.
Award categories include drama, comedy, music video, effects, news, documentary, commercials/public service announcements, and experimental video. Additional awards include the “People’s Choice” award chosen by the Festival audience and an “All Star” award, which is given to the school with the highest cumulative score of all entries.
Students can also participate in Filmmaker’s Day on October 29, 2011. This event is FREE for any interested student by registering online at www.studentdigifilmfest.org. Check-in and breakfast begins at 8 a.m. in front of the Oxnard College Performing Arts building, followed by a series of workshops, lunch, and closing activities at 1:30 p.m.
