“The Best of Oxnard College” Star Alumni Recognition Dinner will be held Thursday, May 7, 2009, and will allow Oxnard College administrators, faculty and friends of the community to honor twelve outstanding Oxnard College Alumni representing diverse professional and occupational fields. The goal of this first annual event, which will be sponsored by the Oxnard College Foundation, is to salute those alumni whose career and professional success stories resulted from the academic and career opportunities they received at Oxnard College. The Oxnard College Foundation encourages college faculty and staff to nominate one of their colleagues, co-workers or employees who qualify as an Oxnard College alumnus and whose personal success has contributed to Oxnard’s economic well-being. Nomination packets, including the Alumni Application Form, must be submitted to the Oxnard College Foundation office by Monday, March 30, 2009. The form requires a written paragraph by a nominator explaining how the nominee has contributed to their workplace and how their Oxnard College education has made an impact on their career. Each of the twelve “Star” alumni selected to be honored will receive two complimentary dinner tickets for the event, which will be prepared by the Oxnard College Culinary Arts Department’s Gourmet Dinner to be held in the OE-10 and OE-11 dining room on May 7. The dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. with social hour/appetizers/beverages, followed by the 6 p.m. dinner and 6:30 p.m. Star Alumni Awards Presentation.
