OXNARD COLLEGE LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER TO BREAK GROUND ON DECEMBER 3
Oxnard College will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, December 3, at 10:00 a.m. for its new Learning Resource Center (LRC) located at 4000 South Rose Avenue in Oxnard.
Upon completion, the LRC will consist of a 38,000 square foot building providing students with an open computer lab, an Internet Cafe, study rooms, tutorial rooms, reading areas, and an electronic classroom. In addition, this state-of-the-art facility will house a large reference collection, a media collection, LRC administration, support services, and technical services. Construction of this facility is being provided through Measure S project funding, and the project team includes Paul Murdoch Architects, construction manager Heery International, and general contractor GRD Construction. Occupancy is tentatively scheduled for November 2011.
The groundbreaking ceremony will include the Ventura County Community College District Board of Trustees, Chancellor, Oxnard College President, employees, and students. The ceremony is open to the public, and free parking is available.
