Students have until September 15, 2010, to submit entries for the 2010 Student Digi Film Festival scheduled for October 22-23 in Oxnard. The Student Digital Film Festival is an Oxnard Independent Film event made possible through the generous support of the City of Oxnard and Oxnard College, with additional support by community sponsors. The mission of the Festival is to educate and empower students of all ages by supporting development and exposure of their artistic expression and authentic individual voices. The Festival showcases the achievements of youth and students of all ages in order to provide a forum for emerging artists.
The $10 entry fee includes up to three film submissions per person, and entries can be 15 minutes in length. Prizes will be awarded in high school and college divisions. Award categories include drama, comedy, music video, effects, news, documentary, commercials/public service announcements, and experimental video. Additional awards include the “People’s Choice” award chosen by the Festival audience and an “All Star” award, which is given to the school with the highest cumulative score of all entries. Winning entries will be screened at the Film Festival at the Plaza 14 Cinemas in downtown Oxnard on October 22-23, 2010.
