| OXNARD COLLEGE HOSTS APRIL 27 YOUTH CONFERENCE FOR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS
For the third straight year the Oxnard College Youth Conference will be held at Oxnard College, this year on Friday, April 27, 2007 with more than 30 workshops geared towards career preparation and leadership and featuring motivational speakers providing “real world” examples of how to succeed. The purpose of the conference and its many events is to encourage high school students to complete high school and advance to college.
The conference is being planned with the support of numerous partner organizations, including the County of Ventura’s Workforce Investment Board, the City of Oxnard, the Oxnard Harbor Commission, the Oxnard Union High School District and many other community partners.

Pathways to a University;
Show Me the Money: Financial Aid Assistance
Dress for Success; Prepare for an Interview
OC Monster Garage: Automotive Careers
Becoming a Firefighter;
CSI: Oxnard;
Media National: Jobs in Communication;
Through the Lens: Life Behind the Camera;
Careers in Dental Hygiene
Students who want to attend the conference should contact their high school counselor for assistance with registration and information. High schools will be providing bus transportation but participants will need to complete a field trip request form in advance of the event. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for participants.
