Please join me in congratulating the Oxnard College Dental Hygiene program whose students, Class of 2009, have achieved a 100% pass rate on the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination. Although the ranking of programs is no longer provided, Oxnard College students scored well above the national average. OC students averaged 89.1, while the national average is 84.4. Not only did the students score above the national average, this year's class surpassed last year's class (who also had a 100% passing rate) whose average score was 87.5.
Under the direction of Dr. Christina Tafoya, Coordinator of Dental Programs and with the instructional support of the Dental Hygiene full-time faculty, Dr. Richard Enriquez and Ms. Margaret (Peggy) Newville, and the team of excellent part-time faculty, Oxnard College Dental Hygiene students continue to excel on a national level. Congratulations to students and faculty.
