Motivated by last year’s great success, Oxnard Community College and this year’s Planning Committee members announced they will host the 4th Annual Youth Conference on Friday, April 25, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The conference offers high school seniors a day of career exploration and motivational speakers with over 30 career workshops ranging from business and the law to firefighting, law enforcement and the film industry. Last year, hundreds of high school students attended the conference and participated in career workshops with titles such as “CSI”, which explores careers in criminology, and “Lights, Camera, Action!” which explores career options in the Motion Picture & Television Industry.
This year workshops cover the fields of medicine, law, social work, robotics, business, journalism, teaching and will be offered and presented by professional experts. During the event, students will be treated to a free lunch, live music and entertainment, and will receive free backpacks. They will also be entered into a drawing for prizes that include Ipods and a laptop computer.
