THE COOPERATIVE EFFORT SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR AUG. 1-12 VENTURA COUNTY FAIR
Volunteers are needed to represent Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura colleges at the "Cooperative Effort" outreach booth at the 2001 Ventura County Fair beginning Wednesday, August 1, and continuing through Sunday, August 12, at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. The fair usually opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m.
Free admission to the Fair will be given to college staff members -- and students -- who volunteer to work in the booth located in the prime exhibition area of the Commercial Building. The good news is that we only have ONE booth to staff this year. Volunteers will be asked to work a three-hour shift during the 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily run of the Fair. WE NEED AT LEAST FOUR VOLUNTEERS EACH DAY FROM THE COLLEGES. You can volunteer for as many shifts as your schedule permits. During each shift you will be joined by a volunteer from the County of Ventura, County Superintendent of Schools or one of the local universities (CLU, Antioch, UCSB Extension, etc.) that are part of The Cooperative Effort.
We hope to target the high school-age students and adults who flock to the Commercial Building each year. It also helps that the fair ends before walk-in registration begins on August 13.
The PIO is developing the master calendar and the early volunteers will be getting the times of their choice. Come and represent Oxnard College at the Fair! |
