SEVENTH ANNUAL WOMEN SEE JUSTICE CONFERENCE IS MARCH 7
In celebration of International Women’s Day, the seventh annual Regional Conference of Women SEE (Social, Economic, Environmental) Justice Conference will be held at Oxnard College on Saturday, March 7, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The keynote speaker is Angelica Salas of the Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA). During the conference, which will be conducted in English and Spanish, there will be various workshops on women leaders, public transportation, education, youth organizing, the economy, health care and food sustainability. There will also be a “people’s hearing” on immigration reform with U.S. Congresswoman Lois Capps, California Assembly member Pedro Nava, Assembly member Julia Brownley and other elected officials. Child care and lunch will be provided for families attending the conference.
