MCNISH ART GALLERY OFFERS “NATURE/NURTURE” EXHIBIT BY HAGOP NAJARIAN
The McNish Gallery at Oxnard College presents a solo exhibition by painter Hagop Najarian titled "Nature/Nurture," beginning February 6 and running through March 8, 2007.
Najarian will be exhibiting a new body of paintings that is his exploration of the visual poetics of light and color. A lecture presentation by the artist will take place on Tuesday, February 6, 4:00 - 5:30pm. A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday, February 10, from 6:00 - 9:00pm.
Najarian’s series of large-scale oil paintings celebrate the experiential process of living, learning, and keeping alive the beauty that is found in daily events. The artist, currently a full-time art professor at Cerritos College, has exhibited in venues throughout the United States including the Museum of Arts (Los Angeles), Downey Museum of Art, Andrew Shire Gallery, The Armory Art Center, VoxPopuli (Philadelphia), and Galeria Mesa (Arizona) among other venues. Hagop Najarian received his M.F.A. degree at Tyler School of the Art, Temple University.
The McNish Art Gallery is located at 4000 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard, 93033 and welcomes public viewing three times a week or by appointment. Gallery hours are Monday through Wednesday from 1:30 - 4:00 pm. The show is free and open to the public.
