ASPIRING HOTEL RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT CHEFS OFFER FINE GOURMET DINING AT OC
Experience fine dining on Monday nights at the Oxnard College Hotel, Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts program at Oxnard College.
Now through May 6 students in the program will prepare and serve a different menu each Monday night in the OE-11 dining room located on the campus at 4000 S. Rose Avenue. Although most evenings seating is available every 15 minutes, Cheryl Shearer, Dean of Business and Vocational Technology, recently reported an increase in dining reservations following a “grade-A dinner” review by Ventura County Star restaurant critic Rita Moran in the Feb. 15 issue of the Ventura County Star “Time Out” section.
As a result, reservations are now highly recommended and can be made by calling program coordinator Frank Haywood at 805 986-5869.
Chef Henry Patey brings his expertise from the Culinary Institute of America as he instructs senior HRM students in the preparation of “gallotine,” a sliced roll of pate-like meat and spice ingredients, roast loin of pork, entrecote (sauteed New York steak), poached salmon in addition to turkey and chicken entrees.
Desserts are equally exotic, with banana flambe and chocolate mousse a few of the selections. The cost of the entire dinner from wine and appetizers to dessert and coffee, is $15 per person. |
