Oxnard College presents the 30th anniversary performance of the Ballet Folklorico Mestizo—a cultural fusion of indigenous and European influences in dance, music, clothing and art. Our program features traditional dances from six regions of Mexico, and the dancers are students, staff, faculty and alumni of Oxnard College. Director Mati Sanchez majored in Dance at the University of California Santa Barbara and specialized in Folklorico dance at the University of Mexico City. Mati is founder of the OC Ballet Folklorico Mestizo and Department Chair of the Oxnard College Fine & Performing Arts. This show is open to all audiences, and whether you are a seasoned or first-time observer of Ballet Folklorico, you are sure to thrill at the precision, color and professionalism of this group.
