SCORE SMALL BUSINESS SEMINARS BEGIN SATURDAY, SEPT. 11 AT OXNARD COLLEGE
The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), Ventura County, Chapter 255, are presenting their six-part spring seminar series “Starting and Managing Your Own Small Business” designed for new business owners and entrepreneurs. The series begins Saturday, September 11, 2004, at the Oxnard College Letters and Science complex, Room LS-6, at Oxnard College, 4000 S. Rose Avenue, Oxnard.
The seminars are co-sponsored by the Economic Development/Community Initiatives Office at Oxnard College. Each of the seminars begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. on scheduled Saturdays.
The first seminar offered on September 11 will be “Fundamentals of Starting a New Business”; the October 2 seminar is “Developing and Preparing a Business Plan”; the October 9 seminar stresses “Marketing: The Why and How of Every Business”, the October 23 seminar covers “Financial Management”; the November 6 seminar is devoted to “Secrets of a Successful Entrepreneur” also features a SCORE Counselor Forum, and the final seminar on November 20 provides “A Full Day of Tax Information and Government Regulations.”
Admission for the series is $100 (or $60 for any VCCCD students). The admission is $30.00 per session at the door, provided space is available. Workshop 6 on Tax Information & Regulations is free.
