OXNARD COLLEGE JURIED ART SHOW RUNS THROUGH MAY 12

The McNish Art Gallery at Oxnard College proudly presents the Annual Juried Student Art Show, which debuted April 23rd and continues through May 12. The Annual Student Show displays winning entries by Oxnard College students Mark Vergara (First place, 2-D, Mixed Media), Maria Villote (2nd place in 2-D, Painting), Olguin Tapia (3rd place, 2-D, Mixed Media), Aaron Dadacay (First place in 3-D, Sculpture), Jose Ramirez, Jr. (Second place, 3-D, Sculpture) and Miguel Garcia (3rd place, 3-D, Ceramics). Honorable mentions award recipients are Jennifer Campbell, Jonathan Cazares, Luis Alcala, Sarah Sanchez, Patty Beers, Mirasol Edrada, Lynn Gottesfeld and Angelica Garcia. OC Art instructor and McNish Gallery curator Christine Morla said that the students, from all levels of Studio Art Classes at OC, represented various art disciplines including ceramics, design, drawing, painting and mixed-media work. The jurors for this year's exhibition were Gwendolyn Lewis-Huddleston, M.F.A., Dean of Liberal Studies at OC, and Paul Benavidez, Upfront Gallery Director/Professional Artist.
The McNish Art Gallery at Oxnard College is located at 4000 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard, CA 93033 and welcomes public viewing two times a week. Please call to make an appointment to visit the gallery.
